Measure Gravel Area on a Map

Trace a boundary to estimate its area, then calculate gravel quantities.

Approximate horizontal area from a street map. Aerial imagery is not configured. Map features may not reveal a driveway edge, depth, slope or current ground conditions.

Numeric alternative: longitude,latitude vertices

Coordinates are WGS84 degrees. Edit or remove any vertex in this field and reapply. Avoid polygons crossing the date line.

Approximate footprint area

Draw or enter a polygon

Trace only the ground that will receive gravel, leaving buildings and other surfaces outside the outline. A street map may not show the actual boundary. Verify it on site or use a calibrated plan before ordering.

Next, choose gravel depth, material density and an ordering allowance in the calculator. Area × depth gives volume; density converts volume to estimated weight.

What does this map measure?

The tool measures approximate horizontal polygon area from WGS84 longitude and latitude coordinates using Turf’s geodesic area calculation. It does not measure depth, slope or surface condition.

Street maps are not aerial imagery

The default street map uses OpenStreetMap image tiles. It may not show the edges of a small driveway. No satellite imagery is licensed or configured here. Use field dimensions or a calibrated plan if you cannot identify a boundary.

Availability and privacy

The map loads automatically when you open this page. Opening the calculator or other measurement pages does not load it. This page sends requests to the configured provider and CDN. Attribution remains visible. The service is supplied as-is and can change or become unavailable. Provider terms. No offline tile download feature is implemented.

Use the numeric visual editor or a local plan if the provider is unavailable. The provider is optional; verify availability and current terms for your deployment.
